Railroads 1st arrived in Fulda, Minnesota in 1879.
The railroads was avital part of the cities early growth.
The early trains in Minnesota were originally part of the southern Mn railroad company. The fulda Mn train depot was a destination from Wisconsin in the late 1800’s. It had a round house and a turn table built in 1880.
The first train came from Jackson Mn via Kinbrae to Fulda. By 1881 trcks ran west through lona, Cahngdler, Edgerton, and Pipestone, Mn to Flandreau, South Dakota. By 1895 there were 4 daily passenger trains and 4 daily freight trains.
Model Railroads:
Lionel was the most popular. Lionel used 3 rails so strengthen the ground connection. Marx model trains was also three rail. Another model train/rails was

American Flyer. American Flyer at first used 3 rail and then changed to 2 rail (more realistic). There were train tracks and engines and cabooses and freight cars and train stations. The development of the west The first settlers cam by wagon train and then by water and rivers and canals. Then came the railroads. Railroads were faster and more dependable then the canals and rivers. Railroads enabled the settlement of the west. Railroads connectd the east coast and west coast of the usa. Train was the only way of travel late 1800.s until 1920. By 1920 the auto had arrived.
Freight and mail moved by trains. The US President traveled by the rails.
All the big corporations had railroad cars. Salesman sold there wares from town to town by train. There were sleeper cars amd restaurant cars and bar cars and exhibit cars. Animals were transported by train.
Fulda Mn railroad was once the hub of rail road travel from Wisconsin through Minnesota to South Dakota. Fulda Mn once had 3 hotels for train travelers
